Bespoke Retreats
Your Story, Your Timeline, Your Perfect Location
These retreats are different.
Most writing retreats ask you to come to them. You show up to a sterile conference centre chosen months in advance (probably for it’s manageable budget, but definitely not for it’s vibes). You arrive as a stranger alongside people you've never met, and follow a schedule designed for a group.
This is the opposite of that.
You come to me, wherever I am (you stay close by, but we work in my private spaces). And because I live and work as a digital nomad, that means you get access to something most retreats can't offer: a guide who is genuinely at home in the world. I won’t be distracted by managing a venue, coordinating fifteen people, or dealing with administrative problems and logistics. We are present, together, in a place worth being, and I’m doing the work with you.
The environments I work in aren't chosen from a brochure. They're places I've found by living in them. I know the best writing spots, the routes for thinking walks, and the corners of cities and coastlines that actually produce ideas. You get the insider version of somewhere spectacular, not the tourist version.
You spend fully creative, abundant, and fabulous days inside a life where creative work is the work. There's no commute, no office, no performance of busyness, and this has a way of loosening something in people. By witnessing what’s possible, and living in your creative self, you start to spark with ideas and roll with the momentum. For a lot of people, that turns out to be the whole point.
Choose Your Location:
I spend time throughout the year in the United States, Scotland, The Bahamas, Italy, Argentina, and elsewhere. There are options to join me in many locations throughout the year.
Three, four, or seven days. One person — or a small group of friends. Your work, your life, built on the only framework that puts you at the centre of it.
Most retreats give you time, space, and maybe a few prompts and exercises. You go home with a bundle of notes and good intentions that fall by the wayside.
These retreats give you maps you can pull out again and again when you need them. And everyone leaves with a piece of great work. You return with your elixir.
Every retreat I run is built on the Heroine's Adventure framework. It’s not just a topic we discuss. It guides the actual structure your writing — or your life — moves through. The framework looks different depending on what you're making. But the result is always the same. You leave knowing what only you can say, and with the work or the clarity that proves it.
In a world where AI can produce competent prose in seconds, your specific experience (earned, sometimes messy, Always unique) is the only thing that can't be replicated. That's what we find in the retreats. Together.
Choose Your Adventure!
Creative Non-Fiction Writing Retreat
You are the heroine.
In personal essay and creative non-fiction, the writer isn't separate from the story. You are the protagonist. The Heroine's Adventure maps directly onto the shape of a strong personal essay: a threshold moment, an ordeal that isn't skipped, a transformation that's earned, and an Elixir handed back to the reader.
Most weak essays fail because they jump from "here's who I am" straight to "here's what I learned." No ordeal. No real change. Nothing the reader can feel.
This retreat teaches you to earn the ending through the writing itself.
What you leave with: a complete draft of one strong personal essay, a heroine identity you can write from for everything that comes next, and a point of view that is unmistakably yours.
For Substack writers, memoirists, and anyone who has a story they want to tell but hasn't found the shape of it yet.
Novel Writing Retreat
Your protagonist is the heroine.
The Heroine's Adventure is a story structure framework that maps directly onto the architecture of a novel. In this retreat we apply it to your protagonist's journey: from who they are at the start, through the ordeal, to who they become by the end. We build the outline chapter by chapter.
We also look at your relationship to the project. What chapter are you in with this book? Writers who understand where they are in their own journey with a novel write it differently, and they finish it.
A 3 or 4 day retreat gives you a deep foundation: your protagonist's heroine identity, your story's core, and a strong outline of the first act. For a complete chapter-by-chapter outline of the full novel, the 7-day retreat is what you need.
What you leave with: a clear heroine identity for your protagonist, a mapped story structure, and (with 7 days) a complete chapter-by-chapter outline ready to write from.
For writers with a novel idea who need a map, and for writers mid-draft who have lost the thread.
Successful Substack Retreat
Your Substack is the Heroine's Adventure.
This retreat isn't about a single piece of writing. It's about understanding what your Substack is actually for, and who you are as the person writing it.
Most Substack writers search for a niche or a content strategy. That's the wrong place to start. What you actually need is to understand your own story. What Elixir you're now in a position to hand back. Your Substack isn't a content channel. It's a record of a specific person's particular way of seeing the world. When you know what that is, everything else (what to write, who it's for, why anyone should read it) becomes clear.
What you leave with: your heroine identity and content territory mapped, two or three essay ideas with full scaffolding, and a clear sense of the point of view your Substack exists to express.
For Substack writers who are publishing but feel like they're guessing — at the topic, the tone, the reader, all of it.
Heroine’s Adventure Retreat
Your life is the map.
This retreat isn't about writing. It's about you. You’ll leave with an understanding of where you are, how you got here, and what comes next.
The Heroine's Adventure is a framework for understanding any meaningful change. When life shifts (a career ends, a relationship does, the children leave, something you built falls apart, or something you've been waiting for finally arrives) it can be hard to locate yourself in the story. This retreat gives you the map.
We work through your own Heroine's Adventure together and you’ll learn how to use the framework to guide every aspect of your re-selfing. You don't need to be a writer. You need to be someone who takes their own life seriously.
What you leave with: a clear, personal Heroine's Adventure map. Where you've been, where you are, and what the next chapter looks like. A framework you can return to every time the story shifts.
For anyone at a crossroads: a transition, a loss, a reinvention, or simply the sense that something is changing and you want to meet it consciously.
